The Prevalence of Internet Addiction and Its Relation With Demographic Factors Among the Students of Gonabad Universities

Background: With the invention of Internet and its widespread popularity, in addition to many benefits, it was accompanied by damages problems. The biggest damage tousing this technology is addiction. addiction can be a chronic, pervasive, recurring, very damaging disorder. This study aimed determine prevalence internet relation with demographic factors among students Gonabad Universities academic year 2015-2016. Methods: design cross-sectional. sample all Azad Payam Noor University Gonabad. A total 1182 participated research process simple random sampling. To collect data, questionnaire Young’s scale used. Data analyzed using SPSS descriptive statistics software version 19, chi-squared test. Results: rate 14.3%. male female samples 14.1% 14.5%, respectively. 33.9% were at risk results chi-square test showed no significant relationship between gender, marital status, field study, (P>0.05). However, analysis indicated age, place residence, level education, type university (P<0.05). Conclusion: According high students, appropriate treatment interventions are required for students.
